About
I am so thankful to be able to help you and your child as a literacy and a math teacher! It has been an enormous blessing to work with children for the past 20 years, from being a classroom volunteer in college, to teaching sailing to students on Boardman Lake for 8 summers, to teaching in Traverse City schools for 14 years, and through tutoring on the side for the past 6 years consistently. I’ve loved working with children. My college experience started at Northwestern Michigan College, branching out to Grand Valley State University for my undergraduate degree in Social Studies and Elementary Education. My masters degree took it a bit further, studying to be a Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach at Central Michigan University. I then put all of this into practice with hundreds of children in public schools. My sincere heart and desire is now to help children on a more individualized basis through teaching small groups and tutoring. I am a lifelong learner right alongside you! I hope to learn and grow and give great resources to your child so that he or she can reach fullest potential. Ultimately, my goal is in glorifying God through this work, knowing that my strength and knowledge and anything good I do comes from Him.
